In order to receive award participants are required in the period from April 1st till April 30th 2017 to get at least 1147 points for two way contacts with the amateur radio stations from the russian oblasts: Moscow city (RDA MA-xx), Moscow area (RDA MO-xx), Vladimirskaya (RDA VL-xx) and Chernigovskaya (Ukraine, URDA CR-xx) activated within Radio marathon “Moscow-870 anniversary.
Dates of activity: between 00:00 UTC on April 1st, and 23:59 UTC on April 30th, 2017. The two-way contacts count for QSO on any HF/VHF band, any mode (CW, Phone, DIGI). Duplicated QSO count on different band and / or mode. All digital contacts (RTTY, JT65, PSK31, PSK63 etc) count for DIGI only one time per each band.
Valid stations and Point Values:
The foundation year is taken from the first mention of Moscow city in the ancient Russian records. On of such records namely Lavrentevskaya (year 1377) is stored in the Federal public library of Saint Peterburg. In this record the precise date mentioned when Suzdal’s prince Yuri Dolgoruky invited Chernigov’s Prince Svatoslav Olegovich with words: “Please come to Moscow”. Per some calculations this meeting of Russian princes happened on April 4th year 1147. This year is considered as an official year of Foundation of Moscow.
Judging by that this meeting was appreciated by princes, the city had sufficient for such a broad hospitality infrastructure and was already founded ancient Russian city fortified by ramparts and a moat and with located around villages. And after several years a wooden wall was erected around Moscow, the future Kremlin.
