In order to receive award participants are required in the period from Juny 1st till Juny 30th 2017 to get at least 1608 points for two way contacts with the amateur radio stations from the russian oblasts: Moscow city (MA) and Moscow area (MO) activated within Radio marathon “Moscow-870 anniversary.




Dates of activity: between 00:00 UTC on Juny 1st, and 23:59 UTC on Juny 30th, 2017. The two-way contacts count for QSO on any HF/VHF band, any mode (CW, Phone, DIGI). Duplicated QSO count on different band and / or mode. All digital contacts (RTTY, JT65, PSK31, PSK63 etc) count for DIGI only one time per each band.

Valid stations and Point Values:

  • First QSO with any SES R870x (in the period from January 1st till December 31st 2017)  – 870 points;
  • QSO with R1608M (in the period from Juny 21st till Juny 30th 2017) – 100 points;
  • QSO with Moscow city (RDA districts MA-xx) - 16 points;
  • QSO with Moscow area (RDA MO-xx) – 8 points.


  • Only first QSO with any SES from R870MR870O, R870C, R870K, R870B, R870A count 870 points. All other contacts count 16 points each but in the period from January 1st till December 31st, 2017.
  • All the points are multiplied by two on 160 meters and VHF/UHF. This condition does not apply to a first QSO with the R870.
  • All the points are multiplied by two (by four on 160 meters and VHF/UHF) for the HAM's outside Europe. This condition does not apply to a first QSO with the R870.

The first Moscow campaign of false Dmitry II. In Spring the rebel army marched on Moscow from Orel. In Zarayskiy battle the troop of Mr Alexander Lisowski defeated the Imperial army


After which the army of Lisowski took Mikhailov and Kolomna. In the two day battle of Bolkhov on 30 April — 1 may 1608 Hetman Rozhen defeated the army of Shumsky (headed by the king brothers, Dmitri and Ivan).


Fleeing from the battlefield warriors were spreading terrible rumors about that "king Dmitry" innumerable army. There were rumors in Moscow that Shuyski intended to take the capital from for numerous failures. The city of Kozelsk, Kaluga and Zvenigorod opened its gates to the false Dmitry II


The city of Tula also swored to the impostor, despite the fact that city of Tula recently kissed the cross to Tsar Vasily. Local nobles, fearing the possible decree of slaves of the false Dmitry II, were leaving the cities along with their families and were going to Moscow or to Smolensk


 The witness and writer of the time of troubles Conrad Bussow noticed that if the false Dmitri II after Bolkhovskaya battle approached the capital without hesitating , horrified Muscovites would have surrendered to him without a fight.


However because the impostor was hesitated this gave a chance to Vasily Shuisky to strengthen his position in Moscow and to prepare the new army, which was headed by his nephew Mikhail Skopin-Shuisky


Prince Skopin was hoping to defeat the false Dmitry II at the nearest approaches to Moscow, but the cheating was discovered in his army— princes Ivan Batyrev, Yuri Trubetskoy, Ivan Troekurov made a conspiracy in favour of the pretender. Michael was forced to return to the capital and to arrest the conspirators there.


Meanwhile, the army of the pretender captured Borisov and Mozhaisk. Royal magistrates guarding for false Dmitry II on Tver road, lost him the battle, and in early June the impostor appeared near Moscow. On 25th of June, the skirmish of troops of the false Dmitry and the Royal armies occurred on Khodynka field, the rebels won the battle, but failed to take Moscow
